CAS No. 10222-01-2
C3h3ON2Br2-MW 241.84 – Br, 66%
Biobrom C-103®L is a 20% active proprietary end use formulation of DBNPA. It is used to control microbial, fungal and algal growth in industrial water systems such as cooling towers, evaporative condensers, pulp and papermill effluents, oil-recovery systems, metal-cutting coolants, air-conditioning systems (effective against Legionella). In the US, it is also approved for use in industrial preservation applications, and in disinfection of POTW (Publicly Owned Treatment Works) effluents.
|Decomposition Temperature, °C||> 70|
Soluble in water.
Flammability and Explosivity Reactivity
Biobrom C-103®L is non-flammable and non-explosive. In case of fire, it will start decomposing at about 70°C and release irritating toxic fumes. Biobrom C-103L is deactivated by sulfur-containing nucleophiles.
Biobrom C-103®L is corrosive to the eyes, harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin.
It is stable in ambient conditions, but is sensitive to heat and light. At pH >9, Biobrom C-103®L readily decomposes.
